VERSE

Now some folk like a salad, some prefer a juicy steak,

And some say fish is the only dish of which they will partake;

There's croissants, cornflakes, cottage cheese, and muesli by the bowl,

But there's just one meal that makes me feel renewed in heart and soul...

CHORUS

Oh, I like having a fryup.

It's my favourite kind of food.

Fried egg's great, you can stick it on the plate,

And bacon's fine if you let me have the rind;

Sausages are always pleasant,

Oh, it may not be posh but I guess I'm just a peasant.

I love having a fryup

For breakfast, lunch or tea;

And if you've got black pud

That'd be really rather good,

Oh, a fryup is the meal for me.

VERSE 2

When the weather's cold there's comfort in a casserole or stew,

And there have been times in foreign climes when I've relished a ragout.

There's porridge, pasta, pastry, pancakes, each one has its day,

But all year round one dish I've found that will drive my blues away...

CHORUS

Oh, I like having a fryup.

It's my favourite kind of food.

Fried egg's great, you can stick it on the plate,

And bacon's fine if you let me have the rind;

Sausages are always pleasant,

Oh, it may not be posh but I guess I'm just a peasant.

I love having a fryup

For breakfast, lunch or tea;

And fried bread's nice,

I could surely go a slice,

Oh, a fryup is the meal for--

Mushrooms too

If they're fresh as morning dew,

Oh, a fryup is the meal for--

I'll seal my fate

With a fully loaded plate,

Oh, a fryup is the meal

I have really got a feel for,

A fryup is the meal for me!
